Greeting

Last September Fuji Speedway hosted the greatest motor sport of all, the F1 Grand Prix, for the first time in thirty years. We are very grateful to the many spectators who came from all over Japan.

However, a lack of foresight on our part meant that our visitors had to wait for a long time in the rain and the cold to board buses, and our hospitality was also lacking in other areas. We offer our heartfelt apologies for all the inconvenience that we caused for our visitors.

After the Grand Prix we received a great deal of advice and feedback from our visitors. We are truly grateful for this, and would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude once more.

We have been working hard to understand the problems that arose and the causes behind them. We have also been carefully deliberating plans for improvement that incorporate suggestions made by our visitors, in order to regain their trust and enable them to fully enjoy the F1 Japanese Grand Prix.

Our primary consideration for this year's F1 Japanese Grand Prix is the safety of the spectators. In order that our fans can all enjoy the event, our joint initiatives with the local people are based on two objectives: "safe and sure transportation services" and "comfortable and enjoyable environment for spectators".

Last year the biggest problem was boarding buses for the return journey. We have changed from last year's "shuttle-bus transport system" to a "stand-by system" where buses wait on-site or in nearby areas, so that visitors can be sure of boarding a bus at any time and can be seated on the bus until it is time for it to leave. (Short-distance routes are not included in this.)

We have made various changes in both equipment and services to create an environment where our visitors can enjoy watching the race. These changes include improving bus stops and walkways, setting up more portable toilets and large viewing screens inside the venue, better information services such as signposting and on-site announcements, as well as increasing the number of staff.

We have also reduced the number of spectators for the final to 110,000 from last year's 140,000. We believe that this will mean that we can offer better hospitality.

The F1 Japanese Grand Prix is an event that is watched by spectators who come to the circuit as well as by F1 fans throughout the world on television.
As the organizers of the Japanese Grand Prix, we have taken last year's events to heart and are all doing our very utmost in the time that we have left so that visitors this year will leave with a smile on their faces and so that F1 fans throughout the world will think, "That was a great race".

We sincerely hope that you will continue to offer us your unswerving support and advice.
Thank you very much.
